The COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Programme is a European funding initiative that aims to promote and support the collaboration of researchers and innovators across Europe.

It is designed to facilitate the creation of networks that focus on a wide range of scientific fields, fostering cooperation between researchers, industries, and other stakeholders.

The programme provides funding for the establishment of "COST Actions," which are research networks focused on specific scientific topics or challenges. These actions are typically bottom-up, allowing participants to define their own research goals and areas of interest.
